Well I certainly am starting to feel NORMAL, What is that really? And by whose standards?
Shouldn't normal be a comfort zone? Well I think so. I don't Feel FAT anymore! I feel LARGE, but not FAT?
I am and have always been large, large boned, and large enough to lift things without help, work with my husband doing construction work related things, lift heavy objects. Never have I ever FELT SMALL!
I worry if I lose to a small size, if I will have the energy I have now. My Mom who is 79 told my sister that I looked good right now, but she did worry that I get any smaller I would look bad.
Now I don't want to look BAD, but I am no where near being ready to stop losing weight! I have 5 months to go for a year post op and hopefully around 40 more lbs to get rid of!
I am settling into a contentment place right now and still doing all the right things. I am just not getting hyped up when things turn out a different way, I will say I feel "Relaxed" with my LapBand AP life now.
I have not reached the "NORMAL" BMI level yet! According to the Charts at present time! But I feel as normal as the next person. Normal to me means not having to live my life hooked to Meds for Diabetes, haven't taken a pill for it since my surgery 7-29-2009. Nor have I taken any Celebrex for pain from Osteoarthritis~oh it is still there, but an Advil works just fine for flare ups.
I feel like I look like most people my age (57). After birthing 4 babies who are now having babies of their own! I am a good looking size for a Grandma!
This summer I will re-evaluate my looks, my weight loss, my BMI and then decide if I have reached the ultimate "NORMAL STATE".
I may decide to have some corrective plastic surgery or not!
I may be happy with the way I look and feel and just set out to enjoy my life and be NORMAL~~~playing with the grandchildren on the floor, cooking for my children and husband, enjoying family and vacation time. Whatever I do, I will feel Normal with the LapBand AP and because of the LapBand AP!
Maybe feeling NORMAL is the SWEET SPOT we all will find with the help of the LapBand AP!
